When you come to Thailand. Good choice for traveler is “Taxi”  But I would like you prepare before you use this vehicle.

Most of Thailand Taxi Driver like to cheat foreigner. That made you pay more than real price.  They thought foreigners are rich and do not know real price for Taxi.

They often use 2 tricks to cheat  foreigners.

1. Do not put meter: They will offer price to you or do not anything before you arrive your place and they will charge high price to you.  You have to look at meter every time and do not waste your time for Bargain price before you use this vehicle cause You do not have to do this.

If they try to offer price or tell you that meter is error. Do not trust them. Change to other Taxi Meter or call to 191 (police station). They will arrested if they do that.

2. Run out your way: They will run around Bangkok in order to increase your price. How can you know this Taxi is run out your way? Please remember Bangkok is small city. If you are in the city your price should not over 120 Bt. Or $4.3 USD. You can ask 191 too, if you have any question.

Price

Normally if you go by Taxi Meter price should be about 50 – 150 bath or $1.5 – 4.4 USD  and 150 – 250 bath or $5.0-8.o USD for very long distance (about 20 – 25 km) You should remember this cause Taxi driver will call you 250 bath up.

Where is Bad Taxi driver?

You will see bad Taxi driver on place which have more foreigner like Kaosan or Lumpinee

How to solved this problem?

You have to tell them push meter in front of you. Do not bargain price without Meter and call 191 if you are in trouble.
